1. Our community values

AfriConnect Exchange is built around respect, community benefit, cultural inclusion, and practical trust. These guidelines explain the standards we expect from everyone who uses the platform.

2. What we expect from users

  • treat other people with dignity and respect;
  • use clear, inclusive, and non-discriminatory language;
  • share accurate information and represent listings honestly;
  • respect cultural differences, lived experiences, and community context;
  • use the platform for lawful and constructive purposes.

3. What is not allowed

  • hate speech, racism, sexism, harassment, bullying, threats, or intimidation;
  • fraudulent listings, deceptive practices, impersonation, or scams;
  • malicious links, spam, or attempts to exploit other users;
  • sharing another person's personal, private, or sensitive information without permission;
  • illegal, unsafe, or exploitative content, including content that targets vulnerable people or communities.

4. Listings and transactions

  • Listings should be accurate, current, and framed in a culturally respectful way.
  • Do not advertise goods or services you cannot lawfully or realistically provide.
  • If you promise delivery, pickup, barter, or a free-item handover, communicate clearly and honour the arrangement you publish.
  • Do not manipulate prices, misstate item condition, or hide important information that a buyer or claimant would reasonably need.

5. Vendor-specific expectations

  • communicate professionally and respond to customers in good time;
  • follow your stated delivery, cancellation, and refund terms;
  • avoid exploitative, misleading, or culturally insensitive marketing;
  • respect customer privacy, personal data, and platform security expectations;
  • cooperate with legitimate moderation, safety, or dispute-handling requests.

6. Safety, privacy, and reporting

If you see conduct that appears unsafe, fraudulent, abusive, or seriously misleading, report it through the platform or by emailing info@africonnect-exchange.org.

We review reports in line with the severity of the issue, the information available, and the need to protect users and the wider platform community.

7. Moderation and enforcement

We may remove content, restrict listings, issue warnings, suspend features, or close accounts where these guidelines are breached. Serious incidents may be escalated to payment providers, advisers, or public authorities where appropriate.

Enforcement decisions are made with platform safety, fairness, legal obligations, and community trust in mind.

8. Contact us

If you have questions about these guidelines, contact us at info@africonnect-exchange.org.
